Treating the Underlying Causes of Neck Pain with Our Chiropractors at West Hartford Chiropractic

At West Hartford Chiropractic, many of our patients initially see us with some form of neck pain. To find lasting relief for our patients, it is important to first understand the underlying cause of that neck pain. It is why our initial consultation is so critical. Our chiropractors will try to determine when and under what circumstances the pain first manifested. Was the patient at work or in an automobile injury accident? Repetitive stress injury like sitting in front of the computer, laptop or gaming console or TV for hours, days and years, or texting for hours, a current problem of epidemic proportions. Were they playing contact sports or have they been under an unusual amount of stress or n accumulating stress of years in duration? Following a thorough1-1.5 Hrs consultation, a full physical, orthopedic, neurologic and chiropractic exams we will formulate our initial assessment.

We will, right then and there, perform a battery of advanced diagnostic tests available to u, such ass like direct digital X-Ray Cesium machines, Thermography, Digital Pain Algometry, Static and Dynamic Surface EMG, 3D-Range of motion algometry, and a Pulse Wave Profiler to confirm our diagnosis. *Determining the core cause* of neck pain or any other ailment is the most important step in understanding how your body was affected, as oppose to treat the pains and other symptoms and not the underlining cause of disease. Correcting the improper nerve supple at the neck or any other body parts affected, will allow the proper correction of the underlining cause and its pan symptoms, as oppose to simply treating the symptoms only. Numbing the pain, does not offer long lasting relief or resolution.

The Role of the Neck in the Neuromusculoskeletal System

Because the neck connects the spine and brain, it is a critical component in how the entire nervous system functions. It is why a neck injury can lead to not only discomfort in the neck, but can result in headaches, migraines, shoulder pain, chest pains, pain in the arms, elbows, mid and even lower back and or remote organs elsewhere. Through our consultation and advanced diagnosis, we can not only verify the underlying cause of neck pain, but formulate, with you, the patient, a treatment program to directly address the cause of your condition.

How Our West Hartford Chiropractors Diagnose and Treat Neck Pain

The spine and nervous system as a whole, and the neck particularly are precisely where a doctor of chiropractic specialize, following a long 8 years plus 4 years’ specialty. Our board-certified chiropractors at West Hartford Chiropractic are keen on investigating the role of a dysfunctional nervous system and it’s affects on other interconnected systems. A thorough exam and diagnosis is the only way to truly understand the role miscommunication in the nervous system plays in one’s health, and how any trauma (direct, indirect or repetitive micro trauma) can affect the function of these systems leading to dysfunction and many symptoms, such as pain. Furthermore, with more than 30 years of experience West Hartford Chiropractors have firsthand experience in the relationship between treatment and results. It all starts, however, with that full understanding the underlying cause of the neck pain or other pains for the same matter. Not by numbing the pain symptoms, but helping to eliminate the cause for the pain and dysfunction.
